Rhodesian ridgeback puppy training

Congratulation, you have a new puppy

If you have Rhodesian Ridgeback they like other dogs need consistent, firm but fair training.  They’re very intelligent, and can pick up things easily.  For more continue reading this blog post.

First thing is time! And I don’t think about one, or two times per week, nooo.
You must traine your Ridgeback every single day. Don’t be worry here is good news, you can traine your dog for even 10 minutes, but be consistent!
You should make schedule for training session every day, for example when you get back home from work.
Ridgeback is going to get more out of a daily ten-minute session than she would a once weekly 30-minute training session.

Second thing is positivity. Do not ask more of your dog than he is capable of at a particular stage of his training.

No matter how your training session goes, it’s important for you to always end the session on a good note. Even if your dog is struggling with a certain concept or is getting tired and losing focus, you must try to end the session with positivity.

If you want your puppy to stay off the beds, for example, then it’s not going to be okay to just let him on the bed ‘just this once’. Instead it will be confusing for him. Belive us :)

You can choose between several options depending of what you want for your dog. You will see that there is several variants for training your dog. It up to you to decide which one do you want.

1.Do you want training classes?

Research here is important. You’ll need to take your puppy to obedience classes, so look for ones in your area. Ask your vet for recommendations. Talk to the trainers, and find out which ones you feel comfortable with. Obedience classes aren’t just for training, but they’re invaluable in socializing your puppy as well. Ask other owners which classes they used.  You should ask if you can have a tour of the training space.

You can start your search here:https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/

Here in our  hometown we found a great dog trainer. The first two times we met him without a dog, and we determined through a conversation what is needed for the dog and for us.

We often think that we can talk to our dog best on our own, but it is very good to follow the advice of experts.

The first thing is to talk about dogs, about your live, how the dog behaves and what you want from him, whether it is realistic or not. The key is in reinforcing the education. Big thing about training is that you have to educate yourself first.

2.Do you want to train your dog at home?

Do you can train your dog at home?
Of course you can. You just need patience an searching through dog training books, guides, and of course the Internet.

There are also products that will help you complete dog training such as special collars and muzzles.

When you get your new puppy home, toilet training and crate training will need to begin straight away. Your breeder will probably have made a start on this before you get your puppy, but you will need to continue it consistently. Establish a toileting routine as soon as you can, and make sure you take him outside regularly. You’ll need to be patient, especially at the beginning. Crate training can take days or weeks, depending on your dog's age, temperament and past experiences. It's important to keep two things in mind while crate training: The crate should always be associated with something pleasant and training should take place in a series of small steps. 3.Show Training

Maybe your breeder has asked you if you would be willing to show a puppy. Maybe you are curious about those dogs you watch on TV. Maybe you have a purebred and you are looking to learn about how to show a dog.

One thing is certain – if you want a show dog who wins, there is training involved.

You should look for someone with experience. You’ll want someone who has shown dogs, someone who can guide you through what would be required from your puppy. They’ll teach you how to make your puppy stand correctly for judging, in a way that shows off his confirmation.

This also includes grooming, feeding and supplementation, as well as how you should look in the ring yourself.
